Local Holistic Practitioners Coming Together to Support Healing in Snohomish County
I recently had the privilege of speaking at the Rooted & Regulated: Where Nervous System Safety Meets Emotional Grounding event alongside two wonderful local practitioners, Rhea Sigler, FNTP of Remedy Health & Nutrition and Jene Schackelford of SG Light Therapy Lounge.
One of my favorite parts of events like this is seeing practitioners from different specialties come together with a shared goal: helping people experience more complete healing.
As a therapist and Body Code practitioner serving Lake Stevens and the surrounding communities of Everett, Marysville, Snohomish, Mill Creek, and Bothell, I love connecting with professionals who share a whole-person approach to health and wellness.
Understanding the Connection Between Emotions and Physical Health
During my presentation, I spoke about the relationship between our emotions and the organs and glands throughout the body.
Our bodies are constantly communicating with us. When we begin to understand those messages and support the nervous system, emotional healing and physical wellbeing often become deeply connected.
Over the coming months, I'll be sharing more about this topic through a series of blog posts exploring how different organs may be connected to specific emotions and how those patterns can sometimes show up as physical symptoms.
How Stress Affects the Nervous System
Rhea shared a thoughtful presentation on how stress impacts the body.
Chronic stress can contribute to nervous system dysregulation, digestive concerns, cardiovascular strain, hormonal imbalance, and other physical symptoms. She also introduced the concept of eustress, or positive stress, which can strengthen resilience, improve focus, and support overall wellbeing.
It was a wonderful reminder that our bodies are designed to adapt when they have the support they need.
Supporting the Body's Natural Healing Process
Jene demonstrated several light therapy technologies used to support the body's natural healing process.
She shared how these therapies may benefit individuals experiencing chronic pain, inflammation, immune challenges, traumatic brain injuries, cognitive concerns, and other persistent symptoms.
It was exciting to learn more about another approach that helps support healing from a whole-body perspective.
Building a Strong Holistic Community
One of the things I'm most grateful for in this season is becoming connected with other practitioners throughout Snohomish County who care deeply about helping people heal.
No one approach is the right fit for every person. But when practitioners collaborate, share knowledge, and support one another, we create more opportunities for individuals to receive the care that's best suited for their unique needs.
I'm looking forward to continuing these conversations and sharing more about the connection between emotional health, the nervous system, and the body here on the blog.
Stay rooted,
Katie 🌿
